The Legacy Journal

Our editorial and medical review process

How Legacy OB/GYN creates, reviews, and updates the women’s health information you read on our blog.

Who writes our articles

Articles are produced by the Legacy OB/GYN editorial team in partnership with our digital partner, Genesis Flow Labs. The team includes writers, editors, and our clinical leadership. Topics come from questions our patients actually ask, in the exam room and on the phone.

How we draft

We start with current guidance from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and peer-reviewed primary literature. We use modern editorial tools, including AI-assisted drafting, to organize information clearly. No article is published from a tool’s first draft. Every article is edited by humans and reviewed by a clinician before publication.

How we medically review

Every article is reviewed line by line by a board-certified clinician on staff before it goes live. The reviewer’s name, credentials, and review date appear at the top of each article. The reviewer takes responsibility for clinical accuracy and signs off on every clinical statement, recommendation, and citation.

How we cite sources

Clinical claims link to the primary source: a peer-reviewed journal, an ACOG practice bulletin, a federal agency statement, or a recognized clinical society guideline. We avoid commercial sources for clinical claims.

How we keep articles current

Each article shows a Last reviewed date. We re-review every article on a rolling cadence of no more than 18 months, and immediately when major guidance changes. Material updates show a Last updated date alongside the review date.
